This was so much fun. I really hope this brings younger readers to read comics. I’m a 16 year-old guy and I absolutely loved it! I thought I would hate Olivia, but she grew on me. The story isn’t dumbed down, as their father died, one girl’s life was ruined by her father’s evil and her mother leaving the family, bad guys fired actual bullets, and there was talk of death. But it was lighthearted and fun and I really can’t wait for more. Oeming’s art felt looser than usual, with scenes looking a little off at times, plus there not being much in the way of backgrounds, and the story telling just wasn’t as clear as I expected of him, but I could tell he was having a lot of fun drawing this which translated into a fun reading experience. The format was nice, good hardcover, it read fast, but it was cheap, so no biggy. I would really like to see more than just one volume a year though. Can’t wait for the next one!
