Nick Spencer is a start in the making. Other than a vague knowledge of their existence I am not familiar with the legendary THUNDER Agents. Honestly most of what I know about the THUNDER Agents came from the Nick Spencer Word Balloon podcast (which I also highly recommend). But if this comic is any indication I think they have a wonderful new home at DC comics. In a word, this comic is wonderful!

Nick Spencer has woven a complex and colorful tapestry of a first issue that throws the reader directly into the fray of this classic super-hero franchise. The characters are impeccable and even though I may not always know what’s going on in the story I was glued to the page, waiting with bated breath every twist and turn of the plot.

The art by Cafu & Bit, which I assume are two people, was spectacular. It’s rare that the art in a comic can surpass the Frank Quitely cover but it did. The characters are wonderfully drawn and very expressive.
Nick Spencer said that this book would put these two on the map and I am inclined to agree

This book reassures me that Nick Spencer is a rising star and my new favorite writer. I read this book first and I knew at once it would be my pick. If you avoided this book because you don’t know the characters please give it another look. This is going to be a comic to watch.
