Simply stunning and, yet, uniquely simple. I mean this in the most complimentary manner possible.

There are not many writer/artist creators in this medium who possess such mastery when it comes to storytelling as Lemire does here. I loved the real time moments where two parts of the story are occuring together at the same time on the page. One is quite intense, a fight where something or someone will have to die. You can feel it right off the page as it unfolds. The other is very opposite, a conversation that only adds to the mystery and gives the reader more questions than it does answers. This made for some incredible pacing.

Also, I loved the use of symbols for thought expression. It only added to the quickness of the unfolding chaos. Very well done.

This is, without a doubt, a new chapter for Gus and Jeppard’s relationship. That moment is worth the price of the book alone.

I can’t wait for the next issue.
