Snyder and Lee sure picked up the pace..sort of.
We find out that our suspicions were right about general Lane and the U.S. gov
having something to counter superman
Batman has something to counter superman
Even the new being who wants a shot at the man of steel (wraith perhaps?) is the
living embodiment of a way to counter superman.
The theme of this issue was COUNTER from the time superman is trying to save the
people in the building to where we see general Lane with his “black hole”
lasers.
Solid issue throughout except I can’t put my finger on it but it feels like Jim
Lee may be trying a bit too hard on this title with all the pull back shots
because the art feels a bit rugged and dull compared to his last big Supes stint
(For Tomorrow).

  1. I thought For Tomorrow was pretty damn dull in the first place.

I agree his work is looking more rugged on this, or sketchy, or sloppy, or whatever you want to call it. Personally I think it just looks worse.

  2. I really can’t wrap my head around these black hole canons or lasers or whatever. Even for a comic book that idea is pretty out there.
