Robinson’s first issue of Superman was a good start to his run; it didn’t reveal too much but it still managed to be quite entertaining. Some people had a problem with the character of Atlas, but in this his second issue Robinson has already managed to make the character someone you want to see more of. Most of the issue is actually devoted to flushing out Atlas’ story. Robinson even puts another mysterious villain into the fray during that process. The scenes with Louis and Jimmy were nicely done. We also get to see more of the Science Police, but thankfully they don’t stick around for as long as they did last issue. In fact, the only person we don’t see much of is Superman, but this doesn’t bother me at all. I don’t think just because a characters name is the title of the book he or she has to dominate the book at all times. The art in the book is great especially in the Atlas flashback scenes. While not on the same level as John’s current Brainiac arc this book should still be on your pull list.

I love the science police!
I’m still not sure what Robinson is doing with this arc, but I have the feeling he’s building something so I’m sticking with it.
I definitely like them too just felt they were a bit too prominent in the first issue, but I suppose it was actually needed to establish them. I just started reading Superman with the last issue and as long as Robinson stays on the book I see myself sticking with it for a long time. Can’t wait for the big cross-over just hope the books don’t cross-over all the time from now on.
