I’m really liking the direction Scott Lobdell is taking this book. After being lost in the weeds for a while, Superman is finally starting to feel a little more like himself. The crossover hitting all the Super-books H’el on Earth, is going well, giving us some cool insights into each character and their place in Kryptonian culture. The antagonistfeels worthy of Superman’s attention versus the random alien adversaries he faced earlier in this series. The art is also great. I like the pencil work and the different style really suits both the dialogue heavy scenes and the action. If I have one complaint it’s that the interactions between Clark Kent and Lois Lane are a little too soap opera-y. This is definitely an iteration of Superman that feels both old and new and that is worth picking up for the fans out there.

I get Superman, but I don’t get Superboy or Supergirl. Will I be confused with this issue?
I’ve been reading Supergirl all along and I’ve gotten Superboy as part of this crossover. Supergirl has been consistently great and the little of Superboy I’ve read has left me underwhelmed. That said I don’t think you need them to get what’s happening here. But Supergirl is kind of an outlier in the story and I’d recommend getting that one to see that perspective on the story.
Thank you for the input. I’ll definitely go out and get the Supergirl trade. I keep hearing the series is excellent.
