"She's a scientist, not a fighter!" SUPERGIRL is consistently one of my favorite series - and one of my favorite characters - in the DCnU. Not because it's perfect, but because it's elegant. Restrained. Simple. This sixth issue closes the door on Kara's resistence to the hero's call. She realizes that Krypton, that her family, is gone. But that she has a new duty to fulfill - that only she can stop the Worldkiller, Reign. This issue's art feels a bit uneven, however. Asrar's art has consistently been one of the high points for me for this series, but this issue feels a bit rough in places. Some of the big images still look great, but a lot of little details don't quite gel as well as they could. There's a significant revelation here that opens up the next arc, I'm sure - possibly the direction of this series for a while, and I could see it maybe drawing SUPERMAN in as well, depending. Certainly the character, if not the comic. Kara is now, it would seem, irrevocably linked to Earth - the question is, can they accept each other?
