Oh boy. I don’t normally read Supergirl, but since this was the third part of the Patriot story, I picked it up. I didn’t need to. The entire issue felt like a placeholder for the Superman titles. At the end, I was left where I was after last week. Mon-El is ABOUT to do something. Supergirl is ABOUT to do something. Superman is ON HIS WAY to doing something. And I suppose all of those somethings will come in the Superman books. (Will this one even need to be included in the trade for this story? My guess is no.) And as a final kick to the groin, I’ll add that I was not a fan of the art. The people looked far too cartoony when compared to the Superman titles, and there were a few shots of Lois in particular where I thought she may have jumped out of Sailor Moon. That is not a good thing.

  1. Strange that you think the art was cartoony compared to the other books. I feel the exact opposite – this is the Superman book with the most realistic looking art when compared to the others. Like, by far.

  2. Oh well I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree.
