H'EL on Earth flash's on in DC's Super-Family crossover event "H'EL on Earth.' Though parts of each title is scattered through the issue (Flash referencing Superman/Superboy's adventure in another portion of the Fortress), it picks up where Superboy #16 ended. Flash holds his word in obeying Superman's orders as his duty is finding Kara and saving her from H'EL's grasp before it's too late.
Before all of this, we see a flashback where H'EL's journey crash's into the Himalaya's, where H'EL is seen, for the first time, in ruins. A backwards "S" is carved into his chest as his exhausted body is shown lifeless on the snowy terrain. Here we see that H'EL's origin of powers could be manipulated by higher powers (yet to be determined, but referenced in the hookliner.) As Flash struggles through the Fortress's sun-stone technology, he is greeted by a not-so-welcoming Kara, who is determined to do whatever it takes to keep "Kal's so called Justice League" away so Krypton could exist once more. This is where a great piece of story-telling and chemistry is displayed with Flash and Supergirl. In the midst of controversy, they find themselves needing to come together against the mysterious walls that lay within the Fortress of Solitude. Nasty punch's and "vibrations" take place in the battle, but their brief encounter in working together is refreshing to know that there IS good in Kara hidden deep down. Once these two land equal-footing, Krypto appears and sense's Kara's Kryptonian scent, which instantly brings Supergirl into a happy train of thought. This gives Flash time to come across "Superman's last resort", which is a Kinect Energy suite used to disect Kryptonian DNA for Kara's own good. H'EL has other plans and puts Flash in his place (literally) and somehow teleports Flash back to the Justice League Watchtower (but not before Kara questions H'EL about the well being of Flash, showing her so-called "good side" in the face of such evil.) H'EL's project is complete, and Kara can't let go of the ruins of her homeworld. Their destination to rescue and build Krypton is set to begin, but not before some kind of "SENTIENCE" is happening on the other side of the Milky Way Galaxy, an ORACLE that shouldn't exist just waiting to be tempered. Judging by the presence of this unstoppable force, more HELL is upon the Super-Family, and even Kara and H'EL himself could find themselves on the wrong end of the spectrum.
