The last to issues have been kinda disappointing.

I think my main problem with them is that if you are also reading the other Wildstorm books then you already read multiple pages out of each of the last two issues of STORMATCH over in THE AUTHORITY. I guess it’s for people who only read STORMWATCH, but I’m guessing that the 20 or so people on here that pull this title also pull THE AUTHORITY, which I’m also guessing is true on a larger scale too. I understand the need to keep people who just read this book informed on what was going on, but multiple scenes from THE AUTHORITY were inserted, word for word and redrawn here by Fernandez. I wish they would just do something a little more interesting for those of us reading both books in this crossover (which is usually how crossovers work, right?) I just ended up flipping past those pages, since I just read them the week before.

The story itself was pretty fun. I liked see the two teams meeting up and killing Eidolon’s army, and the two creative teams did a nice job with the plot and setting up future events in the Wildstorm Universe, but this crossover could really have been told as a 3-parter (AUTHORITY-STORMWATCH-AUTHORITY) if they had just skipped the repeated stuff. I usually really like Fernandez’s art, but on this title it never looks as good as I remember him being on THE PUNISHER and QUEEN & COUNTRY. I think it might have to do with the coloring, but his style also looks different here and a little too clean for my tastes. Solid art, but nothing amazing.

Anyway, this was actually a fun little crossover worth checking out, but like I said… they should have cut out the repetition and put this out as a 3 part crossover instead of 4, which is why I’m giving the “Story” a 3/5 instead of a 4/5,

Also, did anyone else’s copy come misprinted with 8 extra, reprinted pages?
