I dropped Bucky-Cap a few months back because it just wasn’t really doing anything all that interesting or impressive.   After finishing this miniseries, I can’t help but wonder:  why isn’t this the regular Captain America book?  It’s got the action and intrigue that one would expect out of a Brubaker written Captain America book.  Don’t get me wrong:  I love Bucky as a character.  But he was almost more interesting as the Winter Soldier when he was coming to grips with who he had become.  I would find him more entertaining in a series of miniseries where he’s off trying to repair the mistakes of his former life (sort of like a Bourne movie, but minus the amnesia).  This way, Steve could be Cap and we could get rollicking stories like this one back into the pages of Captain America.  I found the finale to the miniseries to be satisfying, and Eaglesham’s display of the action was not disappointing at all.  I liked that this story ended on a note that allows us to come back, and obviously, the consequences of this storyline could lead down some interesting roads.  All in all, this will make a great trade for fans of Cap.

  1. I agree.  This mini-series was the best one that featured Steve Rogers.  I want more.
