Having been a fan of star wars since I was a kid, I never really felt the need to delve into the comics for a few reasons. This was literally the first star wars comic book I have read and it’s been absolutely fantastic.

This issue doesn’t have as much insight into Tohm’s point of view as the last issue but does show more of how deep his devotion is to the empire and vader/the emperor. Blackman does a good job of keeping the spotlight on Tohm, which I feel like other writers might have been more inclined to start making it more about Vader.

The art is great, Alessio definitely captures the tone of what is going in the plot. From brighter colors used when Tohm and Vader are kicking some ass to a darker, colder atmosphere when they plotting and when entering the Jedi temple.

Overall I absolutely loved this issue and the series so far. It’s perfect for readers out there, like myself, who might want to try out a star wars comic for the first time.
