Brian Wood wastes no time at all making you feel like you watching extended scenes from the 1977 movie. The issues starts off with Chewy accusing Han of loafing and Han's reaction to the accusation is perfect. The opening scene just gets your mind in the place it needs to be to enjoy the rest of the book. From there it just get's better. We get to see Luke's cockiness grow; Leia's leadership and planning are show cased; the ship Slave I recognized and feared (kinda); and lastly The Rebellion trying to find a little quiet time to regroup only to be found/thwarted at every turn. As for the art, it's more than serviceable. There were a few panels where the heads of characters didn't seem to match the body position. Lastly, the cover! I poured over the cover for uncounted minutes. It feels right at home with what Brian Wood is doing in this series. I hope Ross does the posters for the next Star Wars movie. This was a 5 star book for me as it hit all of my biased fanboy sweet spots.
