What a steaming shit pile
this book is.

 Unlike Avengers/Invaders, I have no justification for sticking
with this book. There is no light at the end of the tunnel, just a train full
of manure and industrial grade glue. Where the JMS take on the characters was
fraught with intrigue and the interesting hook of taking DC archetypes and
putting them in more real situations than Warner Bros would dare, Chaykin is
barely giving the original characters 3 pages in total in this book and making
shitty fan fic versions of Marvel’s big name properties.

As interesting and
badass as Fury was in Ultimate Wolverine Hulk this week, he was just annoying
here. I hate the art. I hate the direction. I hate the characters. I think any
good will Chaykin’s American Flagg and Gruenwald’s original miniseries
engendered in me has been burned worse than a wicker man filled with bees. Don’t
read this book. Don’t ever read this book. 0/10
