I wasn’t planning on picking this up, but it was a fairly slow week and I
had heard really good reviews about it, so I decided to give it a try.

I’m
saying this as someone who has never actually been to NY, but this appears to
be the truest representation of New York life every put into a marvel book. The
going around from party to party, the drunken taxi rides, all of it, lots of
fun. For guys that have not written a comic before, they really used the medium
well. I love the transitions between scenes a lot, and the switch off of
getting Peter and drunken costume Spidey into different positions was great.

I adore Maguire on art. I don’t know if he’s ever done Spidey before, but I really hope he does it again. You’d think the 2 would be such a perfect gelling of creator and character that someone would have put them together before.

I
loved the feel good ending a lot. I think the Furious 5, while obviously being
played for laughs, were on par with any invincible or Savage Dragon villain. A
fun issue that shows cased a great spiderman.
