It’s funny, I seem to begin my reviews saying, I’m not an xxx fan. Well I’m gonna begin this one just that way.

I don’t tend to be a Spidey fan. I don’t read the book regularly, and when Spiderman shows up in crossover books I tend to think he’s more of a clown than a serous character. But after reading the X-Men Noir book I knew I was gonna pick this one up and I’m glad I did.

The tone of this Noir is just right. It captures the feel of the dark 30’s and really positions the characters of the spideyverse in an interesting manner.

I love Ben Ulrich and JJJ is fun to read no matter where he’s written.

The story here is really engaging, and Peter Parker is a lot more interesting to me than his normal incarnation. Add in Aunt May’s firebrand persona, and I’m really looking forward to the next issue.

Btw., the ART rocks.

This is my potw. First time ever for a Spidey book to make my potw.

Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 4 - Very Good
