I gotta say, this comic was a breath of fresh air for me. After weeks of reading comics that led me by the hand and did all the thinking for me, Spaceman made me snap out of my superhero induced coma and pay attention.

I read this comic twice in one sitting, which I totally recommend. The first time you are hit so completely over the head with bizarre dialect and concepts that you really not sure what the hell you just read. But that second time, it all starts to make sense.

And once it all makes sense it’s a really really good read. It’s one of the comics that you think about long after you’ve finished it.

I was reminded of Moebius work in such titles as The Incal and Airtight Garage, as well as his Heavy Metal episodes. Speaking of Heavy Metal, there is also a lot of Richard Corben’s “Den” infused here.

If you only read this one once and put it aside, pick up again and read through it one more time. It’s worth it.
