SOLOMON GRUNDY #4 (OF 7)

This book is very pretty. I love Scott Kollins, and I honestly would,
and in all honesty probably am, buy this book just for the art. Kollins
has done some great stuff in the past and this feel and look of this
book is spectacular.

As for the story, it just seems like an excuse to
have Grundy fight random upper tier characters in the DCU. This issue
didn’t have it so much as set up the fight next issue with Amazo.

This
issue was mostly piece moving instead of actual characterizaton. It
doesn’t feel like anything important or interesting is really happening
in this series.

If this is how they write Grundy out of the DCU, after
having been in it for 50 or so years, I’m sure a lot of people will be
unhappy.

Story: 2 - Average
Art: 4 - Very Good

  1. I think there is actually plenty going on with this book, and the destruction of Alan Scott’s Lantern is probably going to play a big part in the outcome of Blackest Night.  I think there will be a very new role for Alan Scott because of this.
