The core problem with making a book showcasing this character is that Snake Eyes is a mute (for those not in the know) and at all moments writers are going to need another character to interpret the plot for the readers. In this case Helix actually outshines Snake in his own book. To add to the obvious problem this is probably the slowest moving series out of the 3 IDW continuity GI Joe titles as both GI Joe and Cobra have been great reads so far. While we have constant reveals and action in the other books this one has hardly moved from it’s locale from the first issue. The best part about the series is it’s awesome art, and while the artist hits the occasional snag in storytelling it’s been a little easier on the eyes than the rest of the books. The series is still enjoyable for any Joe fan but it does not hold up well in comparison with the other excellent GI Joe books IDW puts out.

Story: 2 - Average
Art: 4 - Very Good
