Short and sweet, this issue was so good that I have decided to stop getting the comic in trades and switch to monthly. Skullkickers has been steadily improving from the beginning of the series (unfortunately that hasn’t translated to greater sales) and this was probably my favorite issue so far.

I can’t really say what happens in the book at all, because going over anything would be a spoiler, but I will say that in addition to the solid writing and humor, I loved how the art felt grittier with it’s color tones and the line work looked like pencils without being sketchy, which fit the story of the gun more than the normal artwork would have.

When this comic can beat out Invincible and Batman for my favorite comic of the week, I can tell they’re doing something right.
