I picked this book up on the recommendation of Ron Richards, who has spent the last 38 years praising Gillen and McKelvie’s collaborations in “Suburban Glamour” and “Phonogram.” The good news is, it’s nice to have a little indie running Asgard for a change. Bad news is, this story doesn’t really go anywhere in the space of a single issue. The characterization of Loki is spot on, but unless you’ve been following recent Thor issues, you might have no idea about where this story picks up from. I should preface this by saying that I only plan on buying this segment of the “Siege” one-shots, so I might be missing something in the end. I would like to see this creative team on a book more rooted in terrestrial details, like a Moon Knight or an Iron Fist, something with that flavor.
