This is a great one-and-done story, reminding us all that this is one of the best damned books that DC puts out, even if not nearly enough people read it.  Every issue provides action and laughs, as well as layered story completely accessible to newer readers, but providing inside jokes and insights to satisfy long-time fans of the Six.  Heck, they even managed to work in a reference to the long-standing running commentary about Scandal’s butt.  In addition, we get some new and interesting characters along the way.  An earlier issue gave us Jeannette, who we still don’t know much about, save for her affinity for Deadshot’s complete lack of romanticism, but here we’re introduced (briefly) to Insignificus, who I don’t know where the hell he came from but he’s bleak and completely hilarious.  Everyone here has their quirks, very few of the teammates even like each other (except for when they sleep with each other, which has never, ever led to good things or lasting camaraderie), and it makes for a supremely entertaining book.  And one more things for sure… if they ever put out a “Ragdoll Dreams” Tiny Titans-style book like at the end of this issue, I would buy 50 copies.

Story: 5 - Excellent

  1. Nice review!  I couldn’t stop laughing during the scene where Ragdoll is trying to invite himself on Deadshot’s date!

  2. This is definitely one of the best books I read this week.  Probably not THE best, but up there for sure.
