This is a book I should clearly be reading regularly.  I read the Blackest Night issues, and told myself I’d keep up with them.  But forgot that declaration almost instantly.  nd I wouldn’t have picked this up if it didn’t have such a fantastic cover (I’d be shocked if this doesn’t get picked as one of the best week in covers…es).  I had the reverse reaction with this week’s Moon Knight, which I’ve been meaning to read, but saw Deadpool on the cover, and put it back on the shelf.

This issue focuses mainly on Catman, and it’s…it’s brutal.  But the dialog is so crisp, and so realistic that I can even forgive the horribal “Arise the Demon of Estrogan” pun.

I am writing “I will continue to read Gail Simone’s awesome Secret Six book” on my mental chalkboard one hundred times.

Story: 5 - Excellent

  1. Glad you’re on board.  I recently picked up this series as well, and now I’ve read them all.  Terrific series.

  2. Of subject: since I have no way of contacting you other than on your review links, you should be reading The Killer.  It’s fucking sweet and I think you’d really enjoy every aspect of the book.

  3. @vadamowens: I read the first trade, and it was great.  Didn’t pick up the first issue of the new series last night, but it’s in my folder to be read later.  Thanks!
