I started out digging this mini quite a bit. The X-Men were written to be competent, efficient and bad-ass. The Skrulls were showcased as a military force, which went over big with me because that's what they're supposed to be, but so seldom are written that way. But this issue featured dialogue that was about as subtle as a sledgehammer, and relegated hints that were dropped last issue to complete irrelevance. For instance, remember how Angel/Archangel was in three place at once last issue when the Skrulls were talking about taking advantage of the fact that the X-Men were teleporting around to get a Skrull infiltrator into their midst? Someone even said "Hey, who's the new guy?" when Archangel appeared. But that seems like it never happened if you read this issue. Also, the whole use of the Legacy virus feels kind of odd since it was also in X-Force this month. This book left me more confused than contented, but I'll still finish out the series and see if they can draw things back to be the kind of story this started out as.
