My oh my. THAT is why Thor is the son of Odin, and THAT is how you write a battle. The visuals, methodical pace and brutal action all combine here to make on spectacular slobberknocker. Thor just feels intimidating and impressive at once in this issue, but even with a different creative team than on Thor Proper, the subtle touches that make the current volume are not ignored, and that is exactly the kind of that makes me audibly gasp or drop my jaw as I read this... like Thor holding both hammers, or driving the sword into the Super Skrull's heart, or a simple line like "I will not order you again." Or, a maybe not so subtle moment, dropping Asgard itself and crushing the Super Skrull. Simply a breathtaking issue.
