This issue worked on a number of levels. An introduction to Hawkeye as a character, a setup of his journey towards leadership, a passing of the torch/transitional issue, as well as a solid one and done tone-setting spy adventure.
That each of these tasks is accomplished in 22 pages of seemingly fun, light reading is a true testament to Remender’s abilities as a storyteller.
And the art isn’t quite Hardman level perfection, but Zircher draws the he k out of some action! The story moves at a breakneck pace, and Zircher’s pencils are a great fit for such a kenetic issue.

Story: 5 - Excellent
Art: 4 - Very Good
