I don’t get this yet. I don’t really like secrets mind so that might be a problem for me. I like the big reveal, but i like the big reveal a hell of a lot more when I didn’t even know there was something to reveal (see the last issue of Saga for a perfect example.)

Stuff happens in this issue, but it seems just that, just stuff, there’s an obvious buildup going on, and I felt the way that after the open they pretty much hid ever characters left hand till the end of the comic was pretty good, but it wasn’t ‘Come to me, My Galactus.’ good.

It seems pretty harsh of me to expect that all the time, but I think Hickman has the ability to make me go, ‘Oh my God, that is so good’ so regularly that somehow when he doesn’t I get a bit tetchy with his writing, and it’s shown that he has my lowest score out of all my comics this week even though it was by no means the worst one. (Well done Uncanny X-Men for that.)

I guess he keeps me for another couple of months though, it’s definitely no Manhattan Projects yet, but I think where that hit you in the face with awesomeness this tries to do that (I did really quite like the little tv like cold open but it seemed like the rest of the issue I was just looking for a finger because of it.) but not to any such a high degree, but maybe there’s a plan that means in issue 14 or something i’ll go ‘Oh my god, this is so good.’

In Hickman I have faith, please don’t let it be misplaced.
