I tried. I really tried. But I hated the original SeaGuy, and this was no departure from that.
If you liked the original, you will probably like this. Weirdo.
Story: 1 - Poor
Art: 4 - Very Good

Ah! One reviewer got the ratings numbers right. Unlike you akamuu, didn’t read the original Seaguy, thought I’d give this a shot, as I loved Seven Soldiers (except for MrMiracle and the final issue). Like you, I tried. Story: 1.
Grant Morrison can be great at making really well thought-out, surreal stories, and grounding them in reality. He can also have srious acid flashbacks and get all goo-goo eyed over pretty colors and weirdness. There’s a market for it, clearly. And I’m glad he’s found it. But I would love to have him right another story that resonated with the power of We3, Arkham Asylum, or the first 3/4ths of his X-Men run; not in place of his working on series like this or The Filth (which I enjoyed), but as well as them. I’m hoping Batman & Robin will accomplish that.
