Something about this issue bothered me. Scalped is always good. Even when it’s a “breather” issue. Issues where it’s either the “calm before the storm issue” or a “picking up the pieces after the war issue.” This one didn’t really seem to be either. We check in on most of the major players, with the main focus on Dash and Carol and their different journeys in getting clean. I think I’m so used to at least one “shocking” moment in each issue of Scalped, that when I finally read an issue that is relatively straight forward, I feel like I was gyped. I dont’ actually feel that way, but I just don’t have the overall completely satisfied feeling after reading this issue. Ah well, bring on the next issue nonetheless.
