So far I’ve done a decent job picking and choosing which Marvel NOW! titles are worth the $3.99, but with the launch of “Savage Wolverine” a question arises. Is a comic with fantastic artwork worth the money when the story, writing, and dialogue are heinous? The pulpy illustrations and colors pop off the pages, plus the ever so graphic depiction of Shanna the She-Devils mammalian protuberances are an added bonus. Aside from that, I’ve read better writing in
Penthouse Comix (wait, didn’t Cho… never mind.).
For the price of $2.99 I may have stuck around with this one sheerly for Cho’s artwork. Alas, it costs more and with other Marvel NOW! titles at the same price buying a book with such awful writing purely for the artwork isn’t worth it. Also, there is the Wolverine MAX series which features some wonderful artist styles, full frontally female nudity, violence, a story which also involves Wolfy waking up without knowing who or where he is, which has FAR superior writing. For readers who still want a fix of their favorite scruffy faced mutant outside of an X-Men title, I would point you in that directions.

Story: 1 - Poor
Art: 4 - Very Good
