Was this a good comic? I can’t remember.

The artwork in this arc was fantastic. It’s the exact kind of look I look for when I’m reading Runaways. It meets somewhere between cartoon, manga, and modern marvel art. I adore it.

I’m a Joss Whedon fanboy to the max. (Looks up at Buffy, Angel and Serenity action figures on the wall and sighs with love.) I forgave the lateness of Astonishing X-Men because it was hands down my favorite X book on the rack. It was always worth the wait.

This arc wasn’t worth the wait. It was fine and everything but Vaughan wrote the hell out of this comic and still got it out more regularly than Whedon did. I’m sure this story arc will read fine in trade but I refuse to judge it on those merits. There were far too many characters and by this final issue I wasn’t sure who I was supposed to be rooting for. (Runaways won right? No? Who are half these characters?!)

While I’m sad Whedon’s run didn’t live up to what I thought it was going to be I’m excited to see Terry Moore take over the book. PLEASE COME OUT REGULARLY!
