I feel like I’m not hearing too much about this series and that’s a shame. Pak is putting together a really engaging and powerful story, much like Magneto: Testament. Of course, the trajectories of the two characters are completely different and it’s difficult to feel empathy for the Red Skull like you feel for Magneto, but the story has plenty of surprise moments and Pak stays true to the historical record regarding life in Germany at the end of the Weimar Republic and in the earliest days of the Third Reich. The art is very good and the covers have been consistently wonderful (maybe the best in the business).

Maybe everyone is waiting for the trade. If they are, I don’t think they’ll be disappointed.

  1. Great review. Thanks for the read.

  2. This book is insanely good, and incredibly depressing.
