There is something about this series that makes it the very definition
of awesome to me.
Before I start gushing about this issue, I do feel the need to point out that Kanjar Ro is supposed to be on a Oa in prison, having just escaped from execution by the Alpha Lanterns last week in Green Lantern Corps.
Other than that, I am hard pressed to think up things that are not awesome about this book.
Yeah, space drama isn't necessarily a comic genre for everyone, but if you like huge things exploding in space, this is the comic for you.
The snarkiness of Vril is excellent. His ability to out think a legion of battle crazed space mollusks is astounding.
I love the way this book is able to use all the races in the DCU. Having the Dominators show a weakness resulting in races like the Khunds seeing it as an opportunity to strike is spectacular.
The art is really good. It is sterile but not bland, which is how I'd like to think that space ships would need to be in order to be functional.
This book is also filled with little things to make it awesome, from the air pack to the little hitch hiker esque narrative boxes.
What a great and fun book
