It took too long for this latest issue of Rasl to hit the stands. As the story starts to unfold it feels like the beginning of an episode of the X-files in it's good years. It's unravels into a kind of funny dialogue sequence with a guy whom calls himself the president, he reminds me of a character in a David Lynch movie. The issue's pacing was really short by the way Jeff had written the dialogue and drawn his story panels. A major part of the issue takes place in the desert, and Jeff really makes use of the spacing in the panels to convey a long weird walk in a desert. This issue seemed to serve as an issue of information more than a character building arc point. We are bought back into the urgency of the situation the information conveyed to Rob, and by an event in the parking lot with an unknown person breaking into Rob's jeep whom can move through parallel universes.
If I had any complaint, it's that I had to go back and look at the previous issue because of the schedule of these issues. The next issue won't get released until March 2011, and I will probably have to pull out this issue once again to remind myself what has transpired thus far.
