PUNISHER FRANK CASTLE MAX #72

Review by: changingshades

Size: pages
Price: 3.99

So last time I was bitching about how this book felt like every bad
horror movie cliche. How the rural bayou family that kills people and
is 12 sorts of crazy is hardly new ground to cover and that Frank’s
reasoning for being out there was straw thin at best.
SO
 with that in
mind
this issue was more of the same.

If you’ve ever read Preacher,
you’ll notice a lot of watered down similarities between this arc  and
the Origin of Jesse arc.

Inbreds that can’t fight are taken out over
and over again. Inbreds that can are over confident. I’m a little
curious how long they’re going to drag this “Nothing but Trouble” arc
out.

The entrance of the guy in the trunk at the end probably adds
another issue.

The art isn’t too bad. I like the muscular way that
Frank looks, and the kidnapped girl looked attractive, but this book
just seems way too predictable.

Story: 3 - Good
Art: 3 - Good

  1. Yeah, I’m definitely saving my $3.99!  I haven’t even finished Garth Ennis’s run on Punisher MAX yet so I’m in no hurry to read the even sucker arcs after.  If Ennis can’t make me like Punisher much, I doubt anybody can.

  2. I’ve been meaning to re reading Ennis’s run. but I just keep pushing it off.
