Middle managing isn’t is a serious matter. You really need know who you’re dealing with. Many of the employees you deal with go through the same routine over and over again, day in and day out. Prophet, with this issue, seems to fall in this category for the first 2/3 of the issue. It really seemed that it was another one of those “prophet is in a mission but put on a side quest and then goes back to the mission” stories that is now the trademark of the book. But like that one anarchist five-to-niner in the office that revolts in the name of freedom, this story broke the norm just when it’s getting mechanically routine.

Graham subtly laced in the tropes of freedom and slavery in this issue and i was pleasantly surprised with the direction that this john prophet chose. The outcome also tied in to a story device in the middle of the story explaining why our alien friends are not affected by the over mind. It was so good i had to change my story rating from good to very good.

The art is solid and very straight forward. I’m contually amazed by the double page spreads of the book that not only gives impact but also sets up the environment for the rest of the issue. This can be argued to be more attributed to the writer than the artist however.

Quality Inspection Report: Solid. Recommended for current readers. Not a jumping-on point.
