Good:
+ I’m really glad that I decided to go out and pick up the first six issues of Power Girl after reading to many good things about the series on various sites and blogs. I really enjoyed all six issues and this issue might actually be my favorite one so far. This issue has a little bit of everything; love (or lust), action, humor, scantly clad women (and men…), giant space monsters, and a guy named Chancellor Groovicus (who looks straight out of the 1970’s).
+ As with the first six issues, this is just a lot of fun to read. I think there is a lot more humor in this issue and I found myself laughing out quite a few times. From the goofy 1970’s vibe, to the funny sidebars, this issue provides a lot of laughs.
+ I love the cover which is a recreation of Superman #281 but with Power Girl and Doctor Mid-Nite instead of Superman and Lois Lane. Amanda Conner is awesome.
+ The art in this book is stellar and this issue is no exception. Amanda Conner is one of my favorite comic book artists and I’m not sure there is anyone who draws facial expressions better than her. Her artwork is absolutely perfect for this series and is a major reason for why I enjoy this book so much. Amanda Conner is awesome (Yes I know I already said this).
Bad:
-Nope, not this time.
Overall, this is a great issue that is just a lot of fun to read and look at.
My rating: 4.75/5
Art: 5 - Excellent
The only flaw is that this was the first issue since I think #3 that didn’t have a cat scene. Those are the best.
