First of all, NO! This cover has NOTHING to do with what’s going on inside. There is a fight scene but PG does no robo-ripping. Advance solicits strike again!

Now as for the actual issue, it’s a damn good read. I’m sure this book lost a ton of readers after Palmiotti/Gray/Conner left, but I for one am really enjoying the new creative team. First off I’m a fan of the really clean, sleek art-style that Barsi employs. He reminds me a lot of Joshua Middleton, and with Middleton’s abscense in comcis of late, Barsi does a fantastic job of filling the void. While he might not have the most dynamic story telling as far as page layout and panel structure (your basic comic artist) his linework is just beautiful. Very pleasing to the eye.

Winnick has never been my favorite writer but I have certainly enjoyed his work from time to time. While I’m passing on JLA:Gen.Lost, I couldn’t help but continue with PG. What makes this great is the sense of turmoil that PG is feeling throughout the issue. Whereas the Palmiotti/Gray run was very fun and playful throughout, Winnick amps up the tension by taking a more serious tone when dealing with PG juggling her heroic and professional lives. It makes for damn interesting reading, even when the “cliffhanger” doesn’t leave me with a feeling of need in regards to the next issue. What’s bringing me back for me is everything else.

Pick it up and enjoy.

Story: 4 - Very Good
