On a week when the last issue (?) of one of my favorite comics ends with the lead dying in heroic fashion comes out, one would think that it would be a shoe in for POTW. Instead I went with Planet of the Apes #3. I’ve always liked the idea of POTA, but lets face it, the movies just aren’t that good (sorry Mr. Siuntres). On screen the whole thing just looks silly; though I have to say comics are a great medium for these stories. I’ve only seen 2 of the Apes movies but I never felt lost reading the first three issues. It takes place 1,200 years before the first film which works for newbies like me. There is interesting world building and characters all wrapped up in solid writing and fantastic art. If you’re looking for something different and intriguing check this book out.

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 5 - Excellent
