With the conclusion of Brian Wood’s DMZ only a month away I’ve been frantically searching for something to replace it with and so far Ben McCool’s PIGS has done a solid job of filling the void.

The story of KGB Cuban sleeper cell from the Cold War being re-activated and emarking on a black ops mission has managed to keep me interested throughout the first four issues. Cosby and McCool are developing a lot of cool solid subplots here and the characters back stories are particularly compelling.

While this issue definately wasn’t the strongest so far, it does what it was intended and advances the story. I’m still excited to see where this series is heading with future issues.

  1. I’m sure you’re aware of Dark Horse Presents 8-10 with the start of The Massive in it which will continue in a new ongoing after that? And a new Conan ongoing?

    • I’m eagerly anticipating both from Brian Wood and I think they will both be great. If you are a DMZ fan, I really think you’ll like PIGS so make sure you check it out.
