I really enjoyed this book, especially considering I’ve never heard of the original story, or even Joe R. Lansdale. I picked it up on a lark, just because the cover was so cool looking, and I’m always looking for a new horror comic to read. This book didn’t quite live up to my last favorite horror book (Mnemovore, from Vertigo a few years ago), but it definitely has potential to get that good in the coming issues. Nate Fox’s art is very conducive to the story though, and that may have been the deciding factor for me to continue with this title. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for more of his work.
