Peter Panzerfaust has returned from a short hiatus and we’ve moved on to our next Lost Boy. The interviews in modern day, reflecting on their experiences in the war are a great device. I like having to remind myself that this is just the perspective on events from an old man on things that happened in his youth. I don’t know if Weibe intend us to read it that way, but I find it very useful.
We focus on Felix Belanger, a very different character than Julien. Belanger is standoffish and resistant to recounting his experience. Its a nice change from the ebullient Julien.
This book has a great way of making action comprehensible. As the Resistance attacks a supply convoy, its very clear where everyone is. That’s no small feat and Tyler Jenkins art puts everyone in their place. Large parts of the book work without narration or dialogue and its because of the artist’s great storytelling ability. This is a great jumping on point issue but also a reward for those of us that have been reading since the beginning.

Story: 4 - Very Good
Art: 5 - Excellent
