Despite the character’s overexposure these last few years, Osborn manages to capture all the menace and dread of an imprisoned Norman Osborn. Kelly Sue Deconnick writes Osborn as a man in total control of his situation; even imprisoned, he dominates and manipulates everyone around him. The other characters introduced throughout all serve their purposes, but its Norman we’re here to see, and Norman who proves to be the most interesting. It feels drastically different from most other presentations of Osborn behind bars; cruel and calculated, and on par with the Joker from “The Dark Knight” than anything else. The artwork by Emma Rios is wonderful, giving off a sense of scratchy lines combined with cartoonish sensibilities which fits the tone of the book perfectly, making for a genuinely disturbing read.
