This comic rocked my socks off and continues Marvel’s streak of solid, relevant annuals.  This annual follows Richard Rider through time–from the very beginning of his career as Nova to a possible future filled with epic battles.  The storylines encased within this issue are great in that it helps paint the picture of Richard Rider’s character and the importance that just one person can have in the galaxy at large.  And personally, I love that this ties back to regular issues, but is seperate enough that it’s not exactly necessary readers.

The art in this issue is great, and Asrar does a great job penciling this one out.  It’s really nice to see some of his work outside of Dynamo 5, and in the scenes that flash to Rider’s youth, he connects with the look and feel of those older comics.  When we’re whisked into the present, Kelbs pencils are more dynamic and fun.  Wellington Alves does an outstanding job of crafting the epic space battle of the future.

Overall, I had a ton of fun with this book, and I’m going to have to say that it’s one of the best comics that Marvel is putting out right now.
