If you are a comic fan from the 1990s then you must have read New Warriors. Abnett and Lanning are clearly fans of that series too. Every few issues there is usually an easter egg for New Warrior fans. About once every ten issues there is a focus on Nova's past with the New Warriors. This issue not only focuses on past New Warriors issues, but the original 1970s series as the Sphinx is back. He is Nova's real arch-nemesis. Well finally he returns in this issue. I think this issue also confirms iFanboy's comparison to Dr Who. Nova, Darkhawk and Reed Richards find themselves in Egypt of the 1920s. They battle Djinn and are clearly pawns in a game with the Sphinx. I love that Reed is from the past and has only met Nova in the 1970s era. I love that Nova tries to avoid talking about Secret Invasion to avoid changing the past. I also love the reveal that Black Bolt is there with Namorita in a mummy costume. I can't wait for how it goes. The artwork is very bright and reminds me of John Byrne during his classic FF runs that featured both characters.
