Why did I think this was a first issue? Oh well, kind of weird to pick up a 7-parter at issue #5, but I caught on pretty quick. It’s another dark vision of the world, Ellis-style, with creepy, trippy, detailed art by Ryp. Ok, this sounds like I didn’t like the book, but I did, kinda. It’s just sort of one-note. Black Summer was like that too. Black Summer smelled like this book too. Is it the ink? the paper? I don’t know, but it’s a strong pungent odor, not altogether unpleasant.
