Nightwing in Chicago is one of the best things in all the Bat-books. Nightwing has always worked when he’s independent of the machinations of the larger Bat-verse and here he’s all on his own, figuring out his own problems in a city very different from Gotham. Higgins has made Chicago a great setting for Dick Grayson to have his own brand new adventures while also exploring all the elements that make him unique and familiar. The Prankster could be a silly one-note Riddler rip-off but instead he’s creepy and very threatening. The political elements are also great, and the Tony Zucco plot-line is coming along nicely. The shift from Brett Booth to Will Conrad is smooth and the style fits the story well. Great issue from one of the better Bat-books out there.
