I really wanted to like this book when i first heard about it. I’ve always enjoyed a good conspiracy theory and the crazy mythology thats built up around UFOs. However, somehow this book hasn’t been able to incorporate any of those cool things into an interesting or compelling story. No time has been taken to get to know any character and it appears to be a whole lot of different ideas shoe horned into one story that I have yet to care about at all. It borrows from UFO mythology, yet you haven’t even seen one grey alien, just a single reptilian alien whose only popped up twice. I’m also not a big fan of the apparent superhero direction this book seems to be taking with the Third Army, a group of special people who throughout history have thwarted the designs of evil elites trying to establish a New World Order.

They have introduced a couple of characters who I’ve presumed to be members of this group. Yet so little time has been given to them and nothing has been presented to make them interesting or relatable at all. I can’t even remember the name of one character from this book except for Roger Leir, who is a real life doctor I’m already familiar with. I guess I was hoping for more of an X-Files type of thing with regular people trying to deal with incredible circumstances, but that is not the case at all with this book. The artwork is average, nothing special with many of the characters difficult to distinguish between each other and backgrounds few and far between. I want to cut the writer, Gustavo Higuera, some slack since he is trying to introduce a new book in 3 issues, but at some point you have to expect something to get interesting. At $3.50, this book better be a little better than the average 2.99 book. Unfortunately, I can’t say that it is.
