Boooooo! I've never written a review here, but this issue made me angry, so I have to do it. That's right internet, hear my angry words for the first time! Now internet, I know that you're not used to angry people or sarcasm, but just hear me out. This issue was cheap. I have two reasons why. First of all, the art was a horrible version of photo-realism in which every character looked shiny, pink, and wrinkle-less. Every artist chooses an interpretation on drawing a character, I get it, and Deodato's "Tommy Lee Osborn" is a little annoying, but nonetheless invokes a feeling about that character works, sounds, and feels. This was terrible. Osborn looked 20. Daken's arms were wierdly proportioned or shaped. Ugh. Ew. This made me angrier than Bianchini's too-large areolas that he drew on Scott Summers in his first Astonishing X-Men issue. Second, the New Avengers not being somewhere where they fooled the Dark Avengers into going...but wait...they used that tactic to rescue someone? Didn't this just happen in the New Avengers series? That's a cheap thing to do, and "boo" to him for doing it. I'm probably reacting to this so angrify-ing-ly because I had just read the Dark Avengers Annual from last week (on your recommendation, and I liked it) and Daytripper...and this was just a massive slap in the face. Or, my job makes me feel so mind numbing-ly stupid sometimes that I'm happy when seeing something makes me feel smart! But still, your readers are smart, give them some credit and don't recycle. This is just my opinion (for those of you that were confused), and that's that. John from Milwaukee
