Namor First Mutant is a solid read. I Feel like one’s opinion of the book will vary greatly on two things, one is how much you care about the Vampire storyline spinning out from the X-Men storyline, and secondly one view of Ariel Olivetti’s polarizing art. I haven’t kept up with the vampire story line so I feel out of the loop regarding what’s going on with vampires, but maybe that’s a good things, because I can just focus on Namor versus underwater Vamps, which does feel slightly self-contained. I happen to be a person who likes Olivetti’s art and look forward to seeing more of it. The book doesn’t feel quite there yet, but it seems like Moore and Olivetti are building towards some awesome Namor moments no fan should miss.

Story: 3 - Good
Art: 4 - Very Good

  1. I’ve been curious about this book and would have bought it if it had a writer I recognized. Namor is one of my favorite characters, but the creative team is unknown to me. Might have to check it out in trade.

    Thanks for the review.
